Connecting Students, Universities, and Industry to Build the Future Workforce

Most students choose a college major with little real exposure and it’s costing them years and thousands in debt.

CareerConencts fixes that

The Missing Link in Career Readiness

Most students are expected to make life-changing decisions about their future between the ages of 16–18.

But the part of the brain responsible for decision-making, long-term planning, and identity development is still developing during this time.

Without real-world exposure, students often choose career paths based on pressure, limited information, or guesswork.

Career Connects bridges this gap by combining career exploration, mentorship, and performance-based support — helping students make confident, informed decisions that align with who they are and where they’re going.

Founder

Career Connects was founded by Shannen Tyson, a Doctor of Education candidate studying adolescent decision-making and career exploration. After building her career in laboratory science and education, Shannen saw firsthand how many students are expected to choose a college major without truly understanding the careers behind those decisions.

Career Connects was created to bridge that gap by helping students explore career pathways, connect with professionals, and make more informed decisions about their futures.
